Mallikarjun Kharge : ‘In my personal opinion, the RSS should be banned !’ : Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s statement

Mallikarjun Kharge

New Delhi – “It is my personal opinion that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) should be banned, because most of the country’s problems and instability are linked to the BJP and the RSS,” said Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge. (In reality, it is not the BJP or the RSS, but the Congress that is responsible for most of the nation’s problems; for Congress ruled India for 55 years, during which Naxalism, terrorism, and numerous other issues took root. Therefore, it is the Congress that should be banned ! – Editor)

Prime Minister Modi had earlier criticised the Congress while speaking on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary. Responding to this criticism, Kharge referred to Patel’s historic statement made after the assassination of Mohandas Gandhi, in which Patel had harshly criticised the RSS. He cited a letter Patel had written to Shyama Prasad Mukherjee as evidence.

No differences between Nehru and Patel ! – claims Kharge

Kharge stated that the BJP repeatedly tries to portray differences between Nehru and Patel; however, in reality, there was mutual respect between the two. Nehru had appreciated Patel’s role in national unity, while Patel regarded Nehru as an ideal leader of the nation.

Editorial Perspective

If Kharge feels this way, then every patriotic citizen should demand that the Congress – which was responsible for India’s partition – be banned !
