Mumbai – Police have arrested Alexander Palmer alias Akbar Qutubuddin Husaini, a spy who posed as an international scientist. He is a foreign national and had been residing in Mumbai for quite some time. The Mumbai Police, Intelligence Bureau (IB), Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), Military Intelligence (MI), Delhi Police, and Jharkhand Police are jointly interrogating him.

Husaini had forged multiple Indian government documents including a passport, PAN card, Aadhaar card, and other IDs to pass himself off as an Indian citizen. He had been living in a house at Solar Island in Juhu for several years. At the time of his arrest, his wife and son were also present.

From his residence, police seized fake identity cards, forged travel documents, multiple mobile phones, and various electronic devices. Several SIM cards and phone numbers were recovered, some of which are linked to Pakistan.

Police also found bank accounts, credit cards, and fake certificates showing him as a manager in several organizations. His associate, Muzzaffar, was caught with 48 foreign currency notes and a mobile phone.

How did the police and administration remain unaware until he managed to obtain so many fake and official documents ? Why wasn’t it detected earlier that an enemy spy had been living in Mumbai for so long ?
