1. Industrialist Ramakrishna had lodged a complaint against Nasir, Abdul Razzaq and Akbar Pasha in connection with the fraud. Based on his complaint, a case was registered at the Peresandra police station.

2. Minister Zameer Ahmed allegedly called Police Sub-Inspector Jagadish of Peresandra police station, saying, “They (the accused) are very close to me, so please help them a little and let them go.” In response, PSI Jagadish reportedly said he would summon both parties to the station and try to settle the matter.

Editorial Perspective

How can such Congress ministers, who support the accused, ever establish the rule of law in Karnataka ? When ministers themselves order the release of culprits, how can the state’s crime rate ever decline !
