Rashtriya Bajrang Dal’s Kolhapur city president Akshay Otari attacked

Family alleges the Police delayed registering a complaint

Akshay Otari in a wounded state

Kolhapur – Arbaaz Faiyaz Bagwan attacked the city president of Rashtriya Bajrang Dal, Akshay Otari, for obstructing traffic at Shingnapur Phata. In this, Akshay sustained serious injuries to his fingers while defending himself. Arbaaz has also been injured in this case.  Akshay Otari has been immediately arrested on the complaint filed by Arbaaz Bagwan in this regard.

The complaint says ‘Akshay Otari tried to kill Bagwan with a sickle’. In this case, Akshay attacked Bagwan in self-defense while defending himself, but the family alleged that the Police administration delayed registering Otari family’s complaint while talking to the daily ‘Sanatan Prabhat’. (Do the Police not try to understand the sequence of events before registering a complaint ? Don’t they verify the ‘CCTV’ footage ? Anyone can attack others and file a false complaint first – Editor).

1. This incident took place on the evening of October 22nd, i.e. on Diwali Padwa, and the Police initially arrested Akshay on the complaint filed by Arbaaz Faiyaz Bagwan, but Akshay’s mother has alleged that the Police delayed registering a complaint by 3 days against those who attacked Akshay.

2. Since the Police were hesitant to register a case in this regard, devout Hindus visited Karveer Police Station and asked about registering a complaint. The Police did not give any satisfactory answer. In this matter, Rashtriya Bajrang Dal office bearers and activists from Ichalkaranji also came to the Karveer Police Station.

3. Akshay’s mother has alleged that when he was seriously injured and taken to the Government hospital, the modern doctors there stitched his finger without giving him any anesthesia.

4. On October 24th, a case has been registered against Arbaaz Faiyaz Bagwan at Karveer Police Station on the complaint of Akshay’s father Anand Otari.

In this regard, Police Inspector Kishor Shinde of Karveer Police Station said, “There has been no delay or hesitation by the Police in registering the complaint. No complaint was registered as no one from the Otari family came forward to lodge a complaint. We have registered a case after receiving a complaint from Akshay’s father.”
