Bengaluru – Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has clarified the allegations of banning the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in Karnataka. ‘The State Government has not banned the Sangh,’ he said. There were reports in the media that the Karnataka Government had taken action against the Sangh workers. Against this backdrop, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah clarified this issue at a press conference.
The Chief Minister said, “We have not banned the RSS. We have only taken action against individuals or organisations that do not follow the law.” He clarified that the report that the Karnataka Government has banned the RSS is wrong. (It would not be wrong to say that stopping the programmes organised by the RSS volunteers in a legal manner, citing law and order reasons, is a kind of undeclared ban. – Editor)
