Shaniwarwada, a symbol of Hindu victory, and the religious fanatics who offer Namaz!

Pune, 19th October – Today, Hindus exhibited their unity at Shaniwar Wada. Such unity is required. The Maratha Empire which spread  from the northwest (Attock, now in Pakistan) to the East (Cuttack, now in Odisha) had its centre at Shaniwar Wada. Shaniwar Wada is the symbol of victory. It is condemnable that at such a place, Namaz is offered. Such things will not be tolerated in future, warned BJP MP Dr (Mrs) Medha Kulkarni. A video showing a few Muslim men and women offering Namaz became viral on social media. Activists of devout Hindu organisations like Sakal Hindu Samaj, Patit Pavan Sanghatana, etc., gathered at Shaniwar Wada to protest against the Namaz incident and MP Dr (Mrs) Medha Kulkarni addressed them. Shaniwar Wada was purified by sprinkling Gomutra and daubed with cow-dung.

MP Dr (Mrs) Medha Kulkarni added, “We appeal  to those offering Namaz to come back to Hindu Dharma if they have left due to oppression or helplessness. If you don’t want to do that, offer Namaz at home; but not here at Shaniwar Wada; as here, only Hindu Dharma will prevail.” She also congratulated all Hindus gathered for condemning the incident. Slogans viz. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharajancha Vijay Aso, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharajancha Vijay Aso, Jai Shriram, etc were raised on the occasion.

MP Dr (Mrs) Medha Kulkarni stated that the Police were not allowing them to go to Shaniwar Wada; but they had to bow before the unity of Hindus and Hindus could go inside to protest.

Demand to remove unauthorised dargah in Shaniwar Wada

There is an unauthorised dargah in Shaniwar Wada which should be demolished and the board of ‘Hazarat Shah Maqbool’ should also be removed, demanded the demonstrators gathered at the place of incident.

Muslims don’t worship anyone else other than ‘Allah’. Why is the dargah constructed here ? There is no mention of it in any legal documents. This dargah may be dug up. The board of the dargah was never there earlier. It has been recently put up and it needs to be removed. Had the administration taken action in time, there would have been no need for us to go to Shaniwar Wada. Shaniwar Wada is a place of our pride. We are giving a week to the administration to take action and remove the dargah. A meeting has been held with the district collector, commissioner and the Archaeology Department of India but no action has been taken in this context. (Editorial Perspective : Why the Police, administration or Archaeology Department didn’t take action against the dargah ? If they are under pressure or scared, they need to tell openly.)
