Security will be provided to Hindu and Sikh places of worship in Afghanistan : Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Afghanistan

New Delhi – Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi on a visit to India was met by a delegation of Hindus and Sikhs who migrated to India from Afghanistan at the Afghan Embassy.  The  delegation demanded that the Taliban government should repair the Hindu temples and Sikh gurdwaras in Afghanistan and provide security to them. Muttaqi said that the Taliban government will repair the religious places of Hindus and Sikhs in Afghanistan and the Taliban government will provide security to these places.

1. Guljit Singh, a representative of the delegation, said, “Many Gurdwaras and temples in Afghanistan are in a deplorable state. Some of the buildings are in a dilapidated condition.  We have requested Muttaqi to preserve them. They have accepted our demand.”

2. At this time, Muttaqi told the Hindus and Sikhs in the delegation, ‘You can visit your religious places in Afghanistan. We will look at simplifying the visa process for you. You can come back  home (to Afghanistan). You can start a business in Afghanistan once again. You will be welcomed by the Taliban government in Afghanistan,” he said.
