An MBBS student gang-raped in Bengal – 3 accused arrested !

Durgapur (Bengal): Police have arrested 3 men in connection with the brutal gang rape of an MBBS student in Durgapur, while 2 others remain absconding. The incident occurred on the night of October 10th. The survivor, a second-year MBBS student from Odisha, is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

According to police reports, the victim had gone out for dinner with a male friend. At the entrance of a private medical college, 3 men stopped them, snatched the girl’s mobile phone, grabbed her by the hair, and dragged her into a nearby wooded area where they assaulted her. The girl’s companion fled the spot and alerted the police. (What use are such young men who abandon a woman in danger instead of protecting her ? — Editor)

Bengal has become a safe-haven for rapists and criminals! – BJP

A delegation from the National Commission for Women (NCW) is scheduled to visit Durgapur in connection with the case. BJP leader and Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar said, “Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has turned Bengal into a safe haven for rapists and criminals.”

• This is the 2nd incident of sexual assault on a medical student in the past 14 months. Why are women’s organizations across the country silent when women remain unsafe in a state governed by a female Chief Minister ?
