  • Demand to control adulteration in food items

Activists submitting a memorandum to the Sub-Divisional Officer

Pusad (Dist. Yavatamal, Maharashtra) – Festivals are an important time for people to visit their relatives in the villages. Exactly this is the period when private bus services hike their fares. Students and those who are in the cities for jobs are exploited financially. Solution must be provided for this situation, also, to stop adulteration in food items, necessary action must be taken. This memorandum was submitted to Pusad Sub-Divisional Officer Shri Aashish Bijval on behalf of Surajya Abhiyan, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.

The memorandum states following demands and suggestions on behalf of Surajya Abhiyan

1. Special control room to monitor physical and online ticket fares for all routes.

2. Online ticket sale by companies like ‘Red Bus’ and ‘Make my Trip’ should comply with the mandatory limit of 1.5 times increased price fixed by the government.

3. If the fare hike is beyond limit the concerned passengers must have access to WhatsApp Helpline and Online Complaint Portal to lodge their complaint so that arbitrary fare hike gets publicly known.

4. Those brokers or administrators  who violate the rules must face penal action.

5. District Transport Office should have weekly reports on fare hike during festival season.

6. The raw material for sweets such as pedha, barfi, kunda, gulabjam is thickened milk which is invariably adulterated to meet the growing demand in the market. Food and Drug Administration Department should check the sweets samples and act against the guilty.
