Washington DC (USA) – At the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit held in China, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin had a special meeting. This meeting has made the US uneasy, and President Donald Trump’s trade advisor, Peter Navarro, has criticised India’s stance. Free Press Journal has reported on this. According to the report, Navarro said, ‘India should side with America, not with Russia. Modi is shaking hands with Chinese President Xi Jinping on one side and with Putin on the other. We do not accept this. India is engaging in unfair trade and is purchasing oil from Russia. This very money is being used by Russia to fund the war. That is why we have imposed this tariff on India. Through its actions, India is indirectly supporting the war in Ukraine’.

Editorial Perspective

Who is America to tell India what it should or should not do ? Instead of interfering in the affairs of other countries, US should first focus on solving its own domestic problems. India should firmly convey this message to the US !
