Satara District Administration’s anti-Hindu appeal to return the idol of Shri Ganesh to the potters instead of immersion

Satara – In the name of an eco-friendly Ganeshotsav in Satara district, the district administration has set out to destroy the religious practices and traditions of Hinduism. To prevent pollution of public water sources, such as rivers, lakes, and wells in the district, Satara Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Yashni Nagarajan has made an unusual appeal to Ganesh devotees to return the idols to the potters instead of immersing them.

Nagarajan said, “According to the concept of ‘One Village, One Ganesha’, awareness will be created to install Shri Ganesh idols in rural areas, and youth groups should take the initiative to preserve public idols permanently instead of immersing them. While installing Shri Ganesh idols at home, awareness will be created about the installation of metal, clay, and marble idols. Additionally, idol collection centres will be set up at various places by the district administration. Household Shri Ganesh idols should be immersed at home if possible. If that is not possible, the idols should be immersed in nearby artificial lakes or ponds.”

Possible plan to throw Shri Ganesh idols into mines

A treasonous plan is being made to throw the idols of Shri Ganesh collected by the district administration into the mines of the district. For this, it is understood that the Satara district administration is studying various schemes implemented by the Kolhapur district administration for Ganeshotsav.

Editorial Perspectives

  • Would the Satara district administration have dared to make such an anti-religious appeal in relation to other religions ?
  • Hindus, no matter what appeal someone makes, according to religious scriptures, it is appropriate to immerse the idol of Shri Ganesh in flowing water.
