Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) – Kerala Congress MLA Rahul Mamkutathil has been suspended from the party after being accused by writer Honey Bhaskaran and actress Rini Ann George of lewd conduct. Mamkutathil had resigned as the state Youth Congress president after he was accused of sexual misconduct.
Earlier, the Democratic Youth Federation of India, the youth wing of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), had taken out a protest march in Palakkad, Kerala, demanding the resignation of Rahul Mamkutathil. The Congress party was facing increasing pressure to take action against the sitting MLA Mamkutathil, who has been facing multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.
