Case of deadly attack on an Indian origin individual in Melbourne (Australia) : condition critical

4 of the 5 minor attackers arrested

Melbourne (Australia) – Outside the Central Square Shopping Centre, 5 minors attacked Saurabh Anand, an Indian, and slashed his wrist. One of the boys punched him and the other held a knife on his neck. When Saurabh raised his hand in self- defence this boy slashed his wrist with the same knife. The Police have arrested 4 of the 5 accused.

1. Describing the details of this attack, Saurabh Anand said that he had bought medicines from a pharmacy in the evening and was returning from there, he was talking to his friend on the mobile when 5 boys attacked him from behind. In the skirmish, he suffered  fractured spinal cord, head injury and dislocation of the arm.

2. Locals took Saurabh to hospital when they heard his screams. After hours of multiple surgeries his arm could be treated. However, at the moment the doctors cannot say anything regarding improvement in his condition.

Editorial Perspective

In the last few days in Australia and in other countries, Indians have been attacked due to racial discrimination. Indian government should find out whether it is an international conspiracy and take steps to prevent such incidents.
