Yamunanagar (Haryana) – Although there is no direct definition of ‘love jihad’ in the laws, it is a conspiracy. Such acts pose a threat to the unity and integrity of the country,’ a court in Haryana observed and sentenced Shahbaz in this case to a total of 7 years in prison. Along with this sentence, Shahbaz has also been fined ₹1 lakh.

Judge Ranjana Agarwal, while giving the decision, said that it was a case of love jihad. There was no mention of love jihad in the Indian Penal Code or the POCSO Act, but in reality, Muslim men conspired to convert non-Muslim girls by enslaving them.

What is the case ?

Shahbaz used to constantly harass and stalk a 14-year-old Hindu girl when she used to go to school. She was pressured to have physical relations with a minor Muslim boy. After the victim reported the incident at the police station in November 2024, the police investigated and registered a case.
