(Dress code refers to regulations regarding attire to be worn when entering the temple)

Karla (Taluka Maval, District Pune) – The Shri Ekvira Devasthān Trust has decided to implement a dress code for devotees visiting Mother Shri Ekvira Devi for darshan. This temple is the kulaswāminī (family Deity) and a revered site for lakhs of devotees, especially from the Āgri and Koli communities. From 7 July, the dress code will apply to both men and women visiting the temple. It will also be applicable to shopkeepers and locals in the area. As per this decision, the Devasthān has clarified: “Devotees must wear traditional Indian attire when coming to the temple. If they wear revealing or body-exposing clothes, they will not be permitted to enter the temple.”

Editorial PerspectiveMost temples in the state have now begun to take similar steps. In the same manner, temples should now begin efforts to impart Dharma education to Hindus. This will help Hindus understand the importance of their Dharma, the reasons behind religious rituals, spiritual science, etc., and strengthen their faith even more ! |
