Hindu population increased by 12% in the world

Washington, US – According to ‘PEW Research Centre’, the population of Hindus has increased by 12 % during 2010-2020. It has approximately reached 120 crores from 110 crores. Population of non-Hindus has also grown at the same rate.

1. Till 2020, most of the Hindus [99%] of the world lived in Asia-Pacific countries and the rest lived in North America or Central-East North Africa.

2. In south Asian countries like India, Nepal, Pakistan and Bangladesh, the population of Hindus has slightly declined; but this change has not yet reached the threshold of 5%.

3. In the Central-East North Africa region, the population of Hindus has increased more during 2010-2020 as it has reached 32 lakhs [62% rise]. The population of Hindus is 36 lakhs in North America i.e. rise by 55%.

4. Other than India and Nepal, there is only one country viz. Mauritius, where there is a big section of Hindus and that is 48% of the country’s population.

5. Ninety five percent of the Hindu population in the world lives in India [110 crore] and Nepal [81%]. Hindus are the majority population in these countries.

6. Britain has 11 lakh Hindus while UAE too has 11 lakh Hindus.

7. As per PEW Research Centre’s survey, the population of Hindus increased at a higher rate than that of non-Hindus because Hindus went to rich countries in search of good jobs and better lifestyles. Many Hindus went to the USA and the United Arab Emirates [UAE]. The population of Hindus in Europe has also considerably increased and has reached 22 lakhs.

Editorial Perspective

Even then, Hindu genocide is going on in Pakistan and Bangladesh. The situation in Bengal and Kashmir is no different. Creating ‘Dharmabhiman’, its growth and Hindus to become active for the protection of Dharma is necessary rather than just increasing their population.
