
Thane, Maharashtra – The Thane police have arrested two Christian women from Bhayander for allegedly duping a couple from Goa of Rs 5 lakh on the pretext of getting them jobs in Europe. Their names are Joanna Remedios (32 years old) and Perpetual Remedios (42 years old). Along with them, two others have been accused of conspiring to cheat.
The accused had extorted money by giving fake job letters. The above action was taken after the couple filed a complaint upon learning about the fraud. The victim couple had paid a total of Rs 4 lakh 80 thousand to the accused.
