Statement by Madhya Pradesh BJP Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya

Indore (Madhya Pradesh) – “In foreign countries, they say girls wearing skimpy clothes look good — but that’s their mindset. When I attend events, girls or women in revealing outfits come up to take selfies with me, but I refuse. Women in such clothes do not look good. Those who wear skimpy clothes resemble Shurpanakha,” said Kailash Vijayvargiya, a cabinet minister in the BJP-led Madhya Pradesh government. He added, “Girls and women in India should wear proper clothing. They should dress well, adorn themselves nicely, and wear beautiful jewellery.” He made these remarks during an event organised on the occasion of World Environment Day.
