Words have become impotent today : Actor Anupam Kher

Hindi film industry condemns Pahalgam incident

Actor Anupam Kher

Mumbai – Actor Anupam Kher on Tuesday night shared a video condemning the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. 27 were killed, and several others were injured during the attack on Tuesday afternoon, when gunmen opened fire on tourists gathered in a valley. Kher, a Kashmiri Pandit, demanded the toughest punishment possible for the terrorists. He requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Home Minister Amit Shah, to ensure that the action taken against the perpetrators is so tough that it becomes an example for everyone. In the video, he is seen mentioning how it  is simply barbaric to crush tourists . He also cited the reports claiming that the victims were first asked about their religion before being shot.

“What happened today in Pahalgam – the massacre of Hindus, where 27 Hindus were killed one by one – brings immense grief, but there is also a rage that knows no bounds. I’ve seen such things throughout my life, especially what happened to Kashmiri Hindus in Kashmir. ‘The Kashmir Files’ was just a small glimpse of that story – which many dismissed as propaganda.” Kher said.

Hearing the news of terrorism, my heart was broken. Killing innocent people like this is literally demonic, said film actor Akshay Kumar.

Actor Ajay Devgn has said that this incident is heartbreaking and inhuman. Actor Sonu Sood has also condemned this incident. “This is beyond tolerance,” he said.

Various Marathi film actors have also expressed their reactions by condemning the incident.
