Damoh (Madhya Pradesh) – On the morning of March 29, youths associated with Hindu organisations threw black ink on the face of Municipal Corporation Chief Commissioner Pradeep Sharma. Sharma had ordered the removal of saffron flags displayed on the bell tower in the square for Shriram Navami and Chaitra Navratri. This was opposed by Hindu organisations. When the municipal employees started taking down the flags, the Hindu youth got angry and stopped the employees, blocked the road and raised slogans against Sharma. After that, former councillors Vivek Agarwal and Chhotu Yadav reached Sharma’s house and blackened Sharma’s face. District Collector Sudhir Kochhar called the entire incident ‘unfortunate’ and ordered an inquiry into the incident.
