
Raipur (Chhattisgarh) – A total of 22 Naxals were killed in an encounter between security forces and Naxals at two places on the Dantewada and Bijapur border in Chhattisgarh. A soldier of the District Reserve Police Force was also killed. The bodies of all the Naxals are recovered. On the other hand, two soldiers were injured in a bomb blast on the Narayanpur-Dantewada border. 71 Naxals have been killed in Chhattisgarh so far this year. Last year, around 300 Naxals were killed and 290 weapons seized from them.

Bijapur Superintendent of Police Jitendra Yadav said the encounter was still ongoing. Complete information would be available only after the encounter was over.
