Prayagraj : The remains of a calf thrown at the Hindu households

Attempt to vitiate the atmosphere as soon as the Maha Kumbh Mela concluded

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) – Within 48 hours of the conclusion of the Maha Kumbha Mela here, head and legs of a calf were found thrown on the road and in the drain in front of Hindu houses near Daryabad police station in the city. Seeing this, the local Hindus expressed anger and informed the police. The police reached the spot and started investigation. Police examined the CCTV footage to identify the accused. Police officer Sanjay Dwivedi said that someone has done this deliberately to vitiate the atmosphere.

Suspected to have been committed by Muslims – Police

The case registered by the police police states that the houses of Hindus were marked and the remains of cows were deliberately kept there. Since the area where the incident took place is largely inhabited by Muslims, the act may have been committed by an anarchist element among Muslims.

Third such incident in the last five months

According to local Hindus such incidents have happened in the past too. This is the third incident in the last five months.However, those who severed the head and legs of the cow and threw it have not been apprehended till date.
