Calls Pakistan a ‘failed state surviving on international handouts’

Geneva (Switzerland) – India has once again slammed Pakistan during the 58th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, saying, ‘It is regrettable to see Pakistan’s leaders and delegates continuing to spread falsehoods handed down by its military terrorist complex. Pakistan is making a mockery of the OIC by abusing it as its mouthpiece. It is unfortunate that this Council’s time continues to be wasted by a failed state which thrives on instability and survives on international handouts’.
During this meeting, India’s representative Kshitij Tyagi criticised Pakistan, saying :
1. Pakistan’s rhetoric reeks of hypocrisy, its actions of inhumanity and its governance of incompetence. The Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India. The unprecedented political, social and economic progress in J&K in the past few years speaks for itself. These successes are a testament to the people’s trust in the government’s commitment to bring normalcy to a region scarred by decades of Pakistan- sponsored terrorism.
2. Pakistan’s leaders try to conceal their military’s ties with terrorist organisations. Pakistan is making a mockery of the OIC by abusing it as its mouthpiece. It is unfortunate that this Council’s time continues to be wasted by a failed state which thrives on instability and survives on international handouts. India remains focused on democracy, progress and ensuring dignity for its people.
3. Human rights violations are rampant in Pakistan, and minorities face atrocities, leading to the destruction of democratic values.
4. Pakistan shelters terrorists banned by the United Nations. The country itself is a victim of an unstable governance system. Instead of its unhealthy obsession with India, Pakistan should focus on providing actual governance and justice to its own people.
What did Pakistan say in the United Nations ?
Pakistan’s Minister for Law and Justice, Azam Nazeer Tarar, claimed at the UN that human rights violations are occurring in Kashmir and must be stopped. He also alleged that the right to self-determination is continuously being denied to the people of Kashmir. (This is a classic case of hypocrisy ! The world has witnessed Pakistan’s treatment of minorities for the past 77 years, yet neither Pakistan nor the global community speaks up. Despite this, Pakistan dares to comment on India’s handling of Kashmir ! – Editor)
