Hindus preparing to sell their homes and relocate due to lack of legal action

Sambhal (Uttar Pradesh) – The land of Chamunda Temple in Sirsi, Sambhal district, has been encroached upon by Muslims for a long time. Hindus have been urging the administration for years to free the temple premises from encroachment, apart from empty assurances no action has been taken. Frustrated by the inaction, some Hindus have put up posters on their homes stating, “This house is for sale.”
1. Upon receiving the news, the police immediately took some family members into the custody for interrogation. The detained individuals were identified as Vimal Saini, Hari Om Saini, and Pappu Saini. Their family claimed that despite their efforts to secure their release, police didn’t let them go for a long time.
2. According to the Hindus, many families have already started relocating over time. They stated, “If we still don’t get justice, we too will move out.”
3. The District Collector of Sambhal, Dr. Rajendra Pensia, stated that no such incident had occurred and that the situation was completely normal. He added that as soon as the administration became aware of the illegal encroachment, the land was vacated immediately and the revenue department initiated legal proceedings after conducting an inquiry.
4. However, the Hindus claim that the land belonging to Chamunda Temple has indeed been encroached upon.
