Statement of Union Minister of Social Justice Ramdas Athawale
Mumbai – The state government has appointed a committee to prevent incidents of Love Jihad; but the National President of the ‘Republican Party of India’ and Union Minister of Social Justice Ramdas Athawale has opposed it. While interacting with the media in Shirdi, he said, “I am against the ‘Love Jihad’ law. Hindu-Muslim boys and girls come together and get married. Therefore, it is wrong to call it Love Jihad; however, there should be a provision in the law so that conversions do not happen after marriage. The incidents of forced conversion of Hindu girls are increasing. Such cases should be stopped. Those who convert should be severely punished.”
🚨 Union Minister for Social Justice, Ramdas Athavale has sparked a debate by saying “I do not agree with the concept of Love J|h@d!”. 🤔
But, disagreeing with a reality doesn’t make it false, and turning a blind eye to Love J|h@d for political reasons might have consequences… https://t.co/I4tY7gCpx5 pic.twitter.com/UkVYXoni6A
