14-year-old dies in a knife attack by a Syrian immigrant

Vienna (Austria) – On 15 ^th February a 23-year-old Syrian youth attacked 5 people with knife in an incident in Villach city, Carinthia Province in South Austria. A 14-year-old girl died, and 4 others were injured. The Police informed that the attacker was taken into custody, and he was a legal immigrant of Austria.

1.According to CNN report the motive behind the attack is not clear.

2.Carinthia Province Governor has warned dire consequences for horrific atrocities.

3.According to Ministry of the Interior, in 2024; 24,941 had applied for refuge in Austria. Syrian group was the largest followed by Afghans.

4.In the last year’s election ‘immigration’ was the main issue. The National Conservative Freedom Party had won the election after 70 years.

5.Hard core nationalist Herbert Kickl has posted on X that he is stunned by the horrific incident in Villach.
