Massive surge in the number of devotees arriving for a holy bath at Maha Kumbha Mela

Prayagraj, 16 February – The number of devotees flocking to Triveni and Ganga Ghats for a holy bath at Maha Kumbha Mela has surged once again. A significant portion of these devotees are arriving in four-wheelers. Observing the increasing number of vehicles entering the Maha Kumbha region, the Police have restricted traffic movement towards the Sangam area. As a result, devotees are parking their vehicles at a distance and walking 2-3 kilometres to reach Triveni Sangam for their holy dip.

As Saturday and Sunday are holidays, the crowd in the Kumbha region has increased significantly since 15 February. The influx of devotees heading to Triveni Sangam for a holy dip continued throughout the night of 15 February. Even physically challenged individuals are being assisted to the Sangam in wheelchairs, with devotees ensuring they can also partake in the holy bath.

Considering the devotional enthusiasm and the ever-growing influx of devotees, it is expected that the crowd at Maha Kumbha Mela will remain high until Mahashivratri.
