Prayagraj, February 10 – Devotees entering the Maha Kumbha Mela in large numbers via the Jhunsi route are encountering a disturbing scene—groups of alcoholics openly consuming liquor in broad daylight. Shockingly, despite the presence of police, they appear to be ignoring the issue.
Pilgrims arriving by train enter the Maha Kumbha Mela through Jhunsi. Although there are liquor shops along this route, they do not have permission to operate as permit rooms for on-site drinking. However, intoxicated individuals are consuming alcohol right in front of the devotees heading to the sacred site.
Gathering on roadside benches and in nearby parks, drinkers are blatantly ignoring the police and drinking without fear. Devotees are now demanding that the police and administration take immediate action to stop this misconduct.
