Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) – To ease traffic congestion and manage the increasing crowd of devotees, Police Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant and Deputy Inspector General of Police Ajay Pal Sharma have personally taken to the streets of Prayagraj.
On 10th February evening, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath deployed Special Task Force Chief Amitabh Yash to Prayagraj via a special aircraft. Additionally, as per the CM’s directive, 52 new IAS, IPS, and PCS officers have been appointed to manage the situation. All officers have been instructed to report immediately and assume their responsibilities.
From 10th February until 13th February at 8 AM, entry of vehicles into Maha Kumbha Kshetra has been completely restricted, except for administrative and medical emergency vehicles.

Prayagraj Police Commissioner Tarun Gaba assured, “We are ensuring a smooth experience for devotees. Traffic is now under control on all major routes, including Lucknow, Jaunpur, Pratapgarh, Chitrakoot, Rewa, and Varanasi. There is no congestion in the city. Vehicles are being diverted to designated parking areas. People should avoid directly heading towards Sangam.”
Additionally, before Magha Purnima, the entire Kumbha Mela area has been declared a ‘No Vehicle Zone’ starting today. Separate transport arrangements have been made for Kalpavasis, and wrongly parked vehicles are being removed using cranes.
