Encroachment on 10,249 acres of Defence Department land in the country

New Delhi – The Defence Department has 18 lakh acres of land across the country, and 10,354 acres of it have been encroached upon, Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth said in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha.

It is shameful that the defence forces cannot protect their own land. The Government should not just give information but should launch a campaign to liberate this land on priority and report to the Parliament later.
