Mangaon, 8th February – Hindu temples have been attacked since the Mughal regime. Islamic invaders first realised that the temples would make the country powerful; therefore, they targeted and destroyed temples. Now, there are staunch pro-Hindu Governments both at the centre and in the State. I am a fierce pro-Hindu guardian minister; therefore, Hindus should work fearlessly. Let us create such an organisation that nobody would dare to cast an evil eye on the temples, stated BJP MLA Nitesh Rane, the Minister of Fisheries, Ports Maharashtra State and Guardian Minister Sindhudurg district while addressing the ‘Mandir Parishad’.

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), Shri Datta Mandir Nyas, Mangaon, and Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh jointly held the second Sindhudurg district-level Mandir Parishad (conference) at Shri Datta Mandir Hall, Mangaon on 08.02.2025. Minister Rane, the guardian minister was the chief guest of the conference. It was inaugurated by Sadguru Satyawan Kadam, Sanatan’s ‘Dharmapracharak’; Mr Subhash Bhise, the President of Shri Datta Mandir Sansthan; its secretary Mr Deepak Sadhale; Mr Sunil Ghanwat, the national convener of ‘Maharashtra Mandir Mahasangh’, and its member Mr Anup Jaiswal. More than 600 temple trustees attended the conference. Sanatan’s sadguru Swati Khadye too graced the occasion.

Mr Bharat Raul read the message from Sachchidananda Parabrahman Dr Jayant Athavale, the founder of Sanatan Sanstha on this occasion. Mr Rajendra Patil of HJS gave an introductory speech wherein he stated that temples have a special importance in our social life along with our personal life. Holding this conference for the temples associated with Dharma is laudable for Hindus. Temples create the foundation of Dharma amongst Hindus.
A memorandum with a few demands was submitted to the Guardian Minister Rane by Mandir Mahasangh. He promised to take the necessary action by following up on the matter with the Government.
The Government should take a firm stand for reserving the sites of ‘Devasthan’ meant for ‘Devasthan’ only: Sunil Ghanwat, national convener, Mandir Mahasangh
The secular Governments do not provide funds to temples; nor do they extend any help in matters related to Dharma. Then, how can they have a right to manage the temples ? Secular politicians cannot have control over any mosque or a church. How can there be discrimination only against Hindu temples ? Efforts are going on to grab the sites of many temples in the Sindhudurg district. The district administration and Guardian Minister Nitesh Rane should look into this matter and take a firm stand for reserving sites of temples only for temples. Problems of every temple are different and it is necessary to find solutions to them which we want to achieve through Mandir Mahasangh. Hindu unification is mainly happening through temples. The organisation of temples is, therefore, very important for Hindu unity.
Temples should become worship centres – Sadguru Satyawan Kadam, Dharmapracharak
Sadguru Satyawan Kadam stated that the umbilical cord of Indian culture is connected to temples. Temples are a source of divine energy for the people, but owing to the Governments taking over the management of temples and corruption in their management have created many problems. There is a need to stop attacks on temple culture. It has become the need of the hour to eradicate the perversities attacking the temple culture and the need to take steps for good management of temples. Lack of education on Dharma amongst Hindus is leading to Hindu girls falling prey to ‘Love Jihad’, and conversion of Hindus. ‘Bal-sanskar’ classes, ‘Susanskar’ classes for teenagers, self-defence classes for the youth and satsangs for the grownups are required. Temples should become worship centres.

Efforts to sort out disputes in templesA few temples in Sindhudurg are closed down since there are disputes about hierarchy in performing rituals. Efforts will be made to sort out such disputes in the coming two months through the Mandir Mahasangh. Mr Sunil Ghanwat asked the participants to come forward to take the initiative when a few trustees responded by raising their hands to show their readiness. |
