Incident at a Government hospital in Hangal (Karnataka)
(Fevikwik is a liquid used to join two things)

Haveri (Karnataka) – It has now come to light that a nurse at a Government hospital here used ‘Fevikwik’ instead of putting stitches on a minor boy’s wound on January 14. This nurse has been suspended for negligence. This incident took place at the Adoor Primary Health Centre in Hangal taluka. 7-year-old Gurukishan Annappa Hosmani had a deep wound on his cheek and was bleeding profusely. So his parents took him to the primary health centre. At this time, the nurse said that ‘Fevikwik’ was better than putting stitches, as his wounds /scar would remain for many years.
After the parents complained about this, the nurse was transferred elsewhere; however, in the face of the citizen’s anger about her negligence, the Secretary of the State suspended her.
