Indore (Madhya Pradesh) – The Indore Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court rejected a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking the removal of a temple located on Yashwant Niwas Road. The court also refused to review its earlier order dismissing the petition and imposed a fine of ₹25,000 on the petitioner. The court stated that the petitioner, who claims to be a journalist, failed to explain how removing the temple serves public interest. The petition appears to have been filed for personal gain, the court noted.
1.Justice Vivek Rusia and Justice Gajendra Singh observed that the petitioner is not even a resident of Yashwant Niwas Road and has not clarified why the temple should be removed.
2.The High Court dismissed the review petition and ordered the petitioner to deposit ₹25,000 in the Indore Legal Aid Services Authority account.
