Prayagraj railway sets a record by operating over 360 special trains for Mauni Amavasya festival
Prayagraj, January 30th – On the auspicious occasion of Mauni Amavasya, a grand festival of Sanatan Dharma, more than 8 crore devotees took a sacred dip at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj. Pilgrims from across the country had been arriving in the city for several days to participate in this spiritually significant event. To ensure a safe and comfortable journey, the Prayagraj Railway Board operated a record 222 special trains, along with over 360 regular trains, facilitating the smooth transportation of the massive influx of devotees. The railway arrangements were closely monitored by NCR General Manager Upendra Joshi and Divisional Railway Manager Himanshu Badoni, who supervised operations from the central control hub. The seamless coordination between railway authorities and law enforcement played a crucial role in managing the overwhelming crowd, ensuring that millions could partake in this sacred tradition without disruption.

The Prayagraj Railway Administration took extensive measures to accommodate the massive influx of devotees for the Mauni Amavasya Amritsnan Parva. Special shelters, holding areas, and an efficient ticket distribution system were set up at Prayagraj and other railway stations to ensure a smooth experience for travellers. To maintain passenger safety and crowd control, a joint security plan was executed by the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Civil Police. With the increasing number of devotees around 8:00 AM, authorities swiftly opened the Khusrobagh holding point, helping manage the crowd effectively. These well-coordinated arrangements ensured the seamless movement of pilgrims, allowing them to participate in the sacred ritual without inconvenience.

With the assistance of the Civil Police, pilgrims were efficiently guided and escorted to Prayagraj Station, where they were systematically boarded onto trains heading to their respective hometowns. This coordinated effort ensured smooth crowd management and a safe, orderly departure for the devotees after participating in the Mauni Amavasya Amritsnan.
