Prayagraj- On the occasion of Mouni Amavasya on January 29th, 10 crore devotees are expected to come to take a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam at the Maha Kumbha. Since January 25th, 1 crore devotees have been arriving at Prayagraj every day. To prevent any mishap due to such a large crowd of devotees and to ensure that devotees can go for a dip safely, the Prayagraj Railway Department has imposed some restrictions at all the railway stations in the city along with a special plan. All the restrictions will be in effect from 1 day before the Mouni Amavasya until 2 days post that day.
1. Routes have been fixed for entering and exiting the Prayagraj Junction railway station.
2. Entry to Prayagraj Railway Junction will be allowed only from City Side Platform No. 1.
3. To exit Prayagraj Railway Junction, the route will be from Civil Line Side Platform No. 6.
4. Passengers with reservations will be given separate entry from entrance number 5 on the city side.
5. Unreserved admissions will be allowed through direction-wise ‘colour coded shelters’. Ticketing facility has been provided at these shelters.
6. To control the excess crowd, a space has been created at Khusro Bagh that can accommodate 1 lakh passengers.
7. Similar arrangements have been made at Naini, Chivki and Subedarganj railway stations in the city.
