‘Poverty cannot be eliminated by a dip in the Ganaga’ : Mallikarjun Kharge

Congress National President criticises BJP

Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge

Mhow (MP) – Congress national President made a statement criticising the BJP in ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bheem, Jai Samvidhan’ rally. He said, “BJP leaders are competing with one another to take a holy dip in the Ganga. Taking a holy dip will not eliminate poverty.” Then immediately he said, “I do not wish to hurt anybody’s religious sentiments. If I have hurt anybody’s sentiment, I apologise.”

BJP spokesperson and MP Sambit Patra reacted saying, “I challenge Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra if they can criticise some other religion and get away with it. They must apologise to the entire nation.”

Editorial Perspective

Congress ruled the country for more than 55 years and even today, there is Congress rule in some States. Congress should tell why it did not eliminate poverty.
