New Delhi – India’s 76th Republic Day was celebrated with enthusiasm across the country. After the flag was hoisted by President Draupadi Murmu at Kartavyapath (formerly Rajpath) in Delhi, a parade of the 3 armed forces, as well as a tableau and dance performance by various States, Government departments, and various organizations were held. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto was present as the chief guest at the event. Republic Day was also celebrated in various States of the country.
Saints hoist tricolour at Maha Kumbha on Republic DayPrayagraj – Saints and Sadhus celebrated Republic Day in the Maha Kumbha Mela here. The tricolour was hoisted at the camps of all the Saints, including Akhadas. In the Akhadas, the Indian tricolour was hoisted next to the Dharma Dhwaj. All of them sang the national anthem too. The flag hoisting took place in the presence of Shri Panachadashnam Juna Akhada, Jagatguru Gargacharya Muchkund Peethadheeshwar Swami Mahendranand Giri Maharaj and Mahamandaleshwar Swami Jayambanand Giri Junagarh. Later, hundreds of Saints held the tricolour in their hands and took out a procession. They were chanting Vande Bharat. Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad also hoisted flag in the Maha Kumbha Kshetra. The flag was hoisted by the president of Akhada Parishad Shrimahant Ravindra Puriji Maharaj. Along with this, in Uttar Pradesh, State Government social welfare department also organised a flag hoisting programme, in which the flag was hoisted by a 70-year-old woman Munni Devi from Mirzapur. Brigadier R. U. S. Kandeel was the chief guest on this occasion. |
