Sambhal (UP) – “In order to achieve our goals, we have been given the opportunity to perform bhajan (bhakti), and you have been given the opportunity to manage the District. Therefore, although the services may differ, both of us will receive the same reward. You have been appointed as District Magistrate; if you serve with sincerity and a true heart, along with chanting the name of God, you are a true Mahatma. Your speed of progress will be the same as that of a Mahatma,” Saint Premanand Maharaj of Vrindavan said during his discourse to District Magistrate Dr. Rajender Pensiya, who is in the news for leading a campaign to revive the ancient Hindu pilgrimage sites in the region. Dr. Pensiya is spearheading a significant mission to discover 68 pilgrimage sites and 19 ancient wells in Sambhal. A video of this teaching by Maharaj on the importance of duty went viral on social media.
Serve the country as per your ability, as every service is received by the grace of God
DM Dr. Rajendra Pensiya visited Saint Premanand Maharaj of Vrindavan, where the Maharaj advised him saying, “Every service is obtained by the grace of God, so we should continue serving. Serve the country as per your capacity. Spend your life in remembrance of God because the goal of life is to attain God.”
Be cautious not to make any mistakes in your duties
While citing the example of Arjun from the Bhagavad Gita, Saint Premanand Maharaj said, “Arjuna said, he would renounce everything and worship God, but God forbade him saying at this time his duty was to fight the war of the Dharma. Similarly, while fulfilling your duties and chanting God’s name, be sure that you do not make any mistakes in your work. Just as I take care to avoid mistakes in my bhajan, you should also do the same in your duties.”
If you serve without falling into temptation, it becomes both worship of God and service to the country
Maharaj further added, “In the position you hold, do not fall into temptation and make mistakes. If you act with integrity, it will be both worship of God and service to the country. By doing so, you will be regarded as an excellent officer, and it will also be seen as a service to God. If one can serve God, then his life gets meaning; therefore, live joyfully and do not indulge in any addictions. Chant God’s name as much as you can.”
