The Govt should sincerely consider the demand of Saints to free temples from its control : MP Pujya Sakshi Maharaj, BJP

Prayagraj – “All the Saints demand that Hindu temples should be freed from Government control. Saints have made a big contribution in BJP coming to power from the local level to the Parliament. Therefore, the Government should take the demand of Saints to free temples from its control seriously,” said BJP MP Pujya Sakshi Maharaj, in a special interview given to ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ during the Maha Kumbha Mela.

On the question asked about the ‘Waqf Board’, Pujya Sakshi Maharaj said, “The demand to abolish the Waqf Board is being made not only by Hindu Saints but also by Muslims. The Waqf Board is grabbing the properties of Hindus. A bill has been introduced in Parliament to abolish the Waqf Act and it has been sent to a joint committee for discussion. A decision on this is likely to be taken in the upcoming session of Parliament.”

It was a mistake that India was not declared a ‘Hindu Rashtra’ after independence

On the question of declaring India a ‘Hindu Rashtra’, Pujya Sakshi Maharaj said, “After India became independent, Muslims demanded an independent Pakistan. If India was divided on the basis of religion, then the remaining country should have belonged to Hindus. When Pakistan was created, it was necessary to declare India a ‘Hindu Rashtra’. This mistake should be corrected immediately. Saints are raising their voices to declare India a Hindu Rashtra.”
