Minorities in Punjab province to receive Rs 10,500 per quarter

Pakistan’s first ‘Chief Minister Minority Card’ scheme launched

Punjab (Pakistan) – The Chief Minister of Pakistan’s Punjab province, Maryam Nawaz, launched Pakistan’s first ‘Chief Minister Minority Card’ scheme. Under this scheme, the Maryam Nawaz Government of Punjab will give Rs 10,500 (about Rs 3,200 INR) to 50,000 minority families in the province every quarter. During festival times the amount will be increased to Rs 15,000, she said.

Nawaz said that it was their responsibility to protect the minority community and improve their lives. She also assured that they would stop with full force those who threaten the lives and property of the minority community. (Will even children believe these words of Maryam Nawaz ? Her assurance is nothing but meaningless talk, not backed by aligning actions – Editor).

Punjab Minority Affairs Minister Ramesh Singh Arora said that he monitored minority affairs himself.

Editorial Perspective

On the one hand, they would enact a law against the Hindu tradition of flying kites on Makar Sankranti, calling it anti-Islamic, and on the other, they would pretend to provide financial assistance in this way. In Pakistan, which is mired in corruption, the question remains whether Hindus there will ever get any of this money.
