
Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) – In an overnight operation launched on Saturday, the Anti- Terrorist Squad (ATS) in Coimbatore detained 31 Bangladeshi nationals from different parts of Tiruppur district for illegally staying in the country. Based on specific information, the ATS unit headed by Superintendent of Police V. Badrinarayanan carried out searches. It detained 28 Bangladeshi nationals from the jurisdiction of Palladam police station in Tiruppur rural and three others from the limits of Veerapandi and Nallur police stations in Tiruppur City, who had been working in various companies, allegedly posing as West Bengal natives.
The Assam Chief Minister had recently stated that many Bangladeshi intruders are hiding here and Tamil Nadu Police should interrogate them. After this, the Tamil Nadu Police has taken this action.
