Aakhada Parishad and State Government should curb politicisation in ‘Kumbha Mela’

Demand by maulana Shabauddin Razvi from Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh)  against hoardings displayed by Saints in ‘Kumbha Mela’

Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh) – Many Saints have displayed hoardings at different places in ‘Maha-kumbh-Mela’ at Prayagraj. Among them is Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Narendracharyaji Maharaj from Nanej, Ratnagiri who has displayed a few hoardings. On one of the hoardings, it is written that ‘Sanatan Sattvik Hai, par Kayar Nahi (Sanatan is ‘Sattvik’ but not cowardly)’ . On another banner, it is written that ‘Darenge Toh Marenge (We will die if we fear)’. On a third board, it is written that ‘Waqf ke Nam par Sampatti ki Loot Hai (It is looting of wealth under the guise of Waqf)’; Dharmanirapeksha Desh mein Yeh Kaisi Chhoot Hai (What kind of concession is this in a secular country)’. Muslims are now opposing these hoardings. Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi said that ‘Kumbha Mela’ is a holy fair. Here politicising things will be against the principles of this fair. Aakhada Parishad and the Government should put a curb on people involved in such activities.

I support Sanatan Mandal !

Maulana stated further that the Waqf Board was set up to help destitute women. All land of Waqf Board has been given to Muslims. No Hindu has given any land to the Waqf Board and this Board is controlled by the Government. If the Sanatan Board is set up in a similar manner, I will support it. It is necessary to form ‘Sanatan Board’ to guard properties, wealth of temples and muths.

Saints-Seers are enemy of Hindu-Muslim  unity !

Maulana has alleged that Saints-Seers have become enemies of Hindu-Muslim unity. They want to create a rift between Hindus and Muslims in this country. It would certainly not be accomplished. I, however, appeal to the Government to take stringent action against such people who are inciting and dividing communities.

Editorial Perspective

Saints-Seers are creating awareness amongst Hindus to save them from the self-destructive stupor of secularism which has caused anxiety amongst Muslims and they are opposing it. Two nations were created by dividing India for Muslims; still Hindus and Muslims could not be brought together since it was one-sided unity which Hindus have started realising.

The issues raised by Saints through hoardings are the facts and are meant for creating awareness amongst Hindus. Why should Rizvi raise an objection ? The Government should take action against people raising objection over activities of Saints- Seers in religious festivals of Hindus.
