1. The exhibition features an image of Deity Ganesh with a naked woman sitting in his lap, an image of Deity Hanuman flying with a naked woman in his arms, and many other nude images of women.
2. Several cases have already been registered against him in India. However, instead of facing the law, he fled to Qatar. He passed away in June 2011.
3. The exhibition has insulted the religious beliefs of many Hindus. Advocate Amita Sachdeva has requested the Police to register a case against ‘Delhi Art Gallery’ and its
Managing Director Ashish Anand, who exhibited obscene pictures of Hindu Deities drawn by Hussain, and take appropriate action against them.
Editorial PerspectiveWhen Hussain was alive, Hindus all over the world fought against him in a legitimate manner. Is ‘Delhi Art Gallery’ not aware of the religious sentiments of crores of Hindus ? Strict action must be taken against such institution. |
