Mass killings are happening in Bangladesh due to Muhammad Yunus : Sheikh Hasina alleges

Dhaka (Bangladesh) – “Muhammad Yunus has thrown Bangladesh into chaos and anarchy. The current Government has destroyed the country, leading to mass killings and the targeting of Hindus,” alleged Sheikh Hasina, former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and chairperson of the Awami League party. Speaking at her party’s online programme, Hasina accused the Yunus administration of orchestrating attacks on Awami League leaders and activists. Hasina was compelled to step down as Prime Minister and leave Bangladesh following large-scale violent protests in August this year. She currently resides in India.

I left my country for the people

Sheikh Hasina, reflecting on the collapse of her Government in August, stated, “If I had tried to stay in power, it would have led to more bloodshed. There was a plan to assassinate me, just like my father, Mujibur Rahman. In such a situation, I deemed it wise to leave Dhaka. I do not cling to power. Had the security personnel opened fire, many lives would have been lost.” (The individuals who would have been killed were the perpetrators of violence. Given their ongoing atrocities against Hindus and attempts at genocide, one must question whether taking decisive action against them would have been wrong – Editor). Hasina added, “I did not want that.” (A Prime Minister must prioritize what benefits and protects society over personal sentiments or considerations – Editor).

Sheikh Hasina, addressing the attacks on minorities in Bangladesh, stated, “If the Yunus Government, which has seized power unconstitutionally, fails to hold the perpetrators accountable, they too will face consequences for human rights violations. It is imperative to protect the lives of all citizens, and the Government must take appropriate steps to ensure this.”

Editorial Perspective

It is known to the world who is doing what in Bangladesh now. It has now become inevitable for India to take steps to protect the Hindus there. In 1971, Indira Gandhi did not take concrete measures for the protection of Hindus in Bangladesh, it has become necessary for the present Government to finish that pending work.
