India’s Foreign Minister Jaishankar met the Chinese Foreign Minister
Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) – India’s Foreign Minister Dr S. Jaishankar met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. During this visit, he reviewed the withdrawal process of troops from Demchok and Depsang in eastern Ladakh. This was the first high-level meeting between the two leaders after the decision to withdraw troops.
On the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Rio, met CPC Politburo member and FM Wang Yi of China.
We noted the progress in the recent disengagement in the India-China border areas. And exchanged views on the next steps in our bilateral ties.

After the discussion with Wang Dr. Jaishankar said that we discussed taking the bilateral relations between India and China to the next level. We also discussed the global situation. Last month, Indian troops and China started the withdrawal process in Demchok and Depsang. After four and a half years of speculation, both sides have resumed patrolling in both areas.
