Capacity to fire 12 rockets in 44 seconds
New Delhi – Indian Defence Research and Development organisation (DRDO) has successfully carried out the test-fire of Pinak rocket launcher. It is indigenous and it can fire 12 rockets in just 44 seconds. This device was tested to check its accuracy and attack on multiple targets at the same time. Pinak is named after Bhagvan Mahadev’s bow Pinak.
1.This test was carried out at 3 different locations. Total 24 rockets were fired from two launchers. All the rockets hit the targets successfully.
2.Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the DRDO and the Armed Forces on this achievement. He said that the new system would make the Armed Forces more competent.
3.Munishan India Limited and Tata Advanced Systems played an important role in this venture. DRDO Chief, Sameer Kamat shared happiness at the success of the system and said that it is ready to be used by the Defence Forces.
