Swami Anand Swaroop Maharaj demands a law to ban non-Hindus from entering Uttarakhand

Demand by Kali Sena’s National President Mahamandaleshwar Swami Anand Swaroop Maharaj

Haridwar (Uttarakhand) – Mahamandaleshwar Swami Anand Swaroop Maharaj, National President of the ‘Kali Sena’, has demanded a law in Uttarakhand to ban the entry of non-Hindus. He stated, “Many forms of Jihad, like love jihad, spit jihad, and land jihad, are emerging in the Devbhoomi (sacred land) Uttarakhand. This is the result of the Government’s negligence. If a law banning the entry of non-Hindus is not implemented in Uttarakhand by January 12, 2025, an intense movement will be launched, and it will be so forceful that it will not stop even with the efforts of the Government machinery,” he warned the BJP Government of Uttarakhand. He also mentioned a 2.5-month-long campaign to be conducted across Uttarakhand to reach out to the people, prior to undertaking the movement.

Non-Hindus are banned from staying or buying land in Haridwar and Rishikesh

Speaking to the media in Haridwar, Swami Anand Swaroop said that people in every village and city across Uttarakhand will be made aware and public support will be garnered. ‘Islamisation’ of Uttarakhand would not be  allowed under any circumstances. In 1915, a law was enacted in Haridwar and Rishikesh making it illegal for non-Hindus to permanently reside, purchase land, or acquire other property here. This rule is still in effect. We want the Uttarakhand Government to extend this law to the entire State. The Government has been careless about the ‘islamisation’ of Uttarakhand, being carried out as a part of a systematic plot.

We must save Uttarakhand from becoming Kashmir

Swami Anand Swaroop further stated, “The State Government is asleep, and we must wake them up. The Himalayas are not a place for residing but a place for ascetics. It is a sacred spiritual land. The Himalayas are a temple for Hindus, and we must protect the divinity of the Himalayas. Uttarakhand and the Himalayan region are becoming like Kashmir of the 1990s, and we must save Uttarakhand from becoming like Kashmir. The Uttarakhand Government does not realise the gravity of the situation.”

Editorial Perspective

The very fact that a Saint has to make such a demand reflects the gravity of the situation. The ruling BJP in the State and Centre must take an appropriate decision on this matter; else, Hindu religious places may face situations similar to those in Bangladesh.
