For the first time in the country, a private organisation will manufacture aircraft for the Air Force

Tata Group and Spain to manufacture 56 ‘C-295’ aircraft at Vadodara (Gujarat)

Vadodara (Gujarat) – The Tata Group of Companies, recognised as one of the most trusted industrial conglomerates in the country, is set to manufacture aircraft for the Indian Air Force. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez inaugurated the ‘Tata Aircraft Complex’ here on 28th October. In this complex, ‘C-295’ will be manufactured as a transport aircraft. India and Spain have signed an agreement to manufacture 56 aircraft. 16 of these aircraft will be manufactured in Spain. After that, 40 aircraft will be manufactured by ‘Tata Advanced Systems Limited’ at Vadodara in Gujarat.

The Tata Advanced Systems Limited organisation has become the first private establishment in the country to manufacture aircraft. C-295 aircraft will carry soldiers, weapons, fuel from one place to another. These planes can be flown by 2 persons. It can carry 73 soldiers or 48 paratroopers (those who jump from the aircraft to the ground by means of parachutes), and can carry 800 kg of weapons.
