An attempt to damage control, the Anti-India and China-loving President of Maldives issues statement
New York (USA) – Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu has denied having an “India Out” agenda, asserting that the island nation had a “serious problem” with the presence of foreign military on its soil. Muizzu, who is in the US to attend the 79thsession of the United Nations General Assembly, made the remarks on Thursday while responding to a question at Princeton University’s “Dean’s Leadership Series”. Muizzu will soon be on his first official tour of India.

Muizzu said, ‘We have taken action against our ministers who insulted the Indian Prime Minister through social media. No one should say that. I will not tolerate such insult from anyone, be it a leader or a common man. Everyone has their own respect’, he explained.
Malsha Shareef and Mariyam Shiuna, Ministers for Women in the Maldivian Government, had made comments against Prime Minister Modi on social media. After this, there was anger in India against Maldives.
