Threw bomb first, then stabbed him; he is in critical condition

Bhagalpur (Bihar) – A BJP leader and district spokesperson Shashi Modi was seriously injured after unknown persons attacked him with a blunt object in Bhagalpur district, hours after another local party leader was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Patna, police said. The injured BJP worker Shashi Modi is the husband of a local ward councillor. He was attacked by goons with a bomb here. After he got injured and fell down, the goons attacked him with knives. This time his companion who was with Modi was also attacked. He has been admitted to a nearby hospital with injuries and his condition is critical.

Possibility of getting attacked for resisting harrassment !

According to local people, the attack took place on 9th September around 12 midnight. The Ganesh Puja Mandap at Qutubganj was thronged with people. After that, some drunken youths molested the women there, and snatched the mobile phone of a young man. Shashi Modi, who was present there then, kicked out these youths. This time he had a fight with the concerned youths. It is possible that he was attacked because of this.
